[POSTING ON TWO DIFFERENT BLOGS]
As many of you know, The Fault In Our Stars is written by John Green, one out of two members of the vlogbrothers. I bought this book out of dedication to him, but man is it a fantastic read.
I struggled to even put the book down. I finished it within 5 hours straight and couldn’t stop talking about it to all my friends afterwards. What I really like about it is that John represents teenagers in a positive light. A lot of the older generation see us as rebellious kids who have no appreciation for things like literature or real life worldly events. However John says that actually, there are teenagers out there who have a good head of sense on their shoulders and do have appreciation for others.
I couldn’t stop blubbering throughout this book. So even though I love it, I probably won’t be able to read it ever again simply because I am so over sensitive about it. I immediately recommended it to my friends and family and already it is going on loan to a friend.
Despite the fact I would have loved a happily ever after, I think it was better John ending it the way he did. It shows that good things come and go in life; absolutely anything can happen. Life isn’t like a usual book where it has a beginning, twist then happy ending. In this novel we see cancer playing with life and John got that message across perfectly.
You should definitely read this book even if you are someone who doesn’t normally read. In my view, everybody is a reader, just some people haven’t found the right book yet.
And this could really be the right book.
Tell me what you thought of the book- I’d love to know!
